Description

"Walking Lovely Bear" windup mechanical mohair fur covered tin toy by Modern Toys of Occupied Japan in the late 1940s. His nose, paws and ears are made of tan color felt. When wound up this bear would walk lumbering side to side across a surface. This one has a key in the side, but when wound up the gear releases right away so the bear only moves a little. The lower portion of the original paper makers sticker label is still on the underside of the bear. The entire label read "Modern Toys Made in Japan P. Patent."
