Description

This is a Johann Distler penny toy. Lithographed tin tin black and white speckled horse with red reins and a red and blue embossed cart. The cart is decorated with a yellow and red stenciled box with the words "Liverpool", "533" and "Made in Germany" on the box as well as the distinctive JD insignia of Johann Distler. Made by Distler around 1914-1920. It is about 5 inches long by 1 1/4 inches tall. Excellent condition with minor surface scratches as seen in photos. The toy is featured on page 34 of Penny Toys from Heaven. We are a non-smoking home.
