Here is an elegantly dressed French little girl doll standing on a painted tin plate platform, ready to play badminton. This mechanical (automation) doll was found in a century-old home in Upstate New York. She was centered on a mantle, above a large, open hearth fireplace with a large glass dome covering and protecting her. She is in amazing working condition. The detail and artistry is the highest quality. She has a bisque head with blue glass inset eyes, perfectly painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners and nose and a closed mouth. Her pierced ears are adorned with real jewelry (rubies in gold) and she has long, braided blonde hair (real?). Her body consists of a figural torso and upper wire arms with realistic hands. She is wearing a stunning robin-egg-blue dress with ruffled sleeves, embellished pockets and a long, cross stitched silk pattern. She stands 13” tall upon the wheeled platform. The overall measurements are 13” by 7 3/4” by 5 3/4”. When she is wound, the girl glides forward in a circular motion, turns her head and arm, along with the wire-attached shuttlecock. The owner’s couldn’t find the key. We tried our key and she works.
